With government subsidies to public service organizations shrinking, it is up to the private sector to do as much as possible to compensate for funding cuts. We are proud to have disbursed over $165,000 the past twelve years from proceeds from our annual fund raisers.

WOMEN’s 2011 philanthropic event , The 4th Annual Symphony of Food – Chefs’ Showcase Dinner, was held on Friday, January 28 at Bella Sera by Greco’s.

WOMEN’s mission is to help less fortunate women and children in Allegheny, Washington, Fayette, and Greene Counties. As part of that mission and in addition to our philanthropic event, our Charity of the Month disburses $100 every month from September through June throughout Western Pennsylvania. Also, an Emergency Fund is available for various emergency requests during the year.

WOMEN of Southwestern PA, Inc. accepts grant applications for funding requests up to $2,500 once a year from non-profit charitable and community organizations located in Allegheny, Washington, Fayette and Greene County, PA.

To qualify, the organization must:

Send a letter identifying the organization’s purpose/mission statement, copy of IRS 50l(c)(3) designation, amount requested, your email address and specific intent for the grant to WOMEN of Southwestern PA, Inc., c/o Philanthropy Committee, P.O. Box 1112, McMurray, PA 15317.
